Face to face talks between U.S. and Gaddafi raise hopes of peace in Libya

‘An end to the war in Libya appeared closer yesterday as it was revealed that representatives of Colonel Gaddafi’s embattled government held talks with U.S. officials in neighbouring Tunisia over the weekend.

The meeting was described by a Libyan government official as a first step in opening dialogue.’
